Steve McCurry specializes in contemporary photography. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the suburbs. During his lifetime, he attended Pennsylvania State University where he studied film. After, he took his camera and went to India numerous times. He has been featured on the front of magazines and book covers, having over a dozen books, many exhibitions around the world in his name, and founded the nonprofit organization ImagineAsia in 2004, which works to provide educational resources to children and young adults in Afghanistan.
